Curating the Best

Written by Victoria Trabosh, CEC

If a leader tells you they have all the answers, do not follow them. If a leader tells you they have become an expert in an area, listen. When COVID-19 began to look like its effect would be severe for the economy, I knew I was not immune. I thought about how I would move forward with an awareness that my business could take a tumble. My theme for 2020 is “face the storm.” Even when I chose it at the end of 2019, it occurred to me, this was not my usual upbeat theme. Yet I embraced it. Who knew that the expression would gain new meaning with the storm of an international pandemic? Facing the storm meant accepting the reality of isolation, a changing business model, lack of face to face meetings, and going within to decide how I would react and act. Fortunately, I am part of great communities that also chose to face the storm.

Whether international coaches are gathering weekly via Zoom, United Nations meetings, local leaders coming together to support one another and their audience, or heartfelt and vulnerable conversations with friends and clients, I reached a new level of awareness and expertise.

How, I wondered, could I share so many of the great messages I was hearing from experts? The answer was on my website. I could choose to highlight leaders who did not profess to know all but did wisely share their wisdom. On my website, you will find three categories:  People | Profitability | Plan. If you click on the “LEARN MORE,” you will read great articles by experts in their field. Any of these articles will help you face the storm(s) and provide solutions for your life and business. I will continue to curate articles from great leaders I know. We will feature one per day on social media. Contact information for each writer is at the end of each article.  Reach out and connect; let them know they have made a difference for you. Finally, I ask you to consider what expertise you are hiding from the world. You do not need to know it all, but you need to share what you know.

Have an idea for an article? Please contact me. I am happy to consider it.  Many thanks to all who serve in crisis. Those who do not give up but who get back up and to all who strive to find their way. You are not alone, and together, we’ll build a greater tomorrow.
